How to Avoid the 80/20 Rule Prospect Crunch

  The 80/20 rule is a basic marketing theory which poses that "80% of your sales come from 20% of your clients". This seems simple enough, but with the current and ongoing increase in postal rates, online channel rates rising, and the market place becoming more competitive, many companies are feeling the full effects of "the prospect crunch". This doesn't allow them to replenish the dwindling 20% of their in-house file because they can't afford to prospect.

  Eventually what happens, is the house file is used up and companies end up marketing to the same people; therefore, missing a big piece of the market that's on the outside. So we must ask, how do YOU reach prospects on the outside? The answer is simple in our minds: don't cut back on prospecting! Don't rely on the in-house file!
