BILL LEVINE

Hi Iím Bill Levine, although Iíve been called many things before including; wild bill, Dr. bill, billy boy, billy the kid, even bill-bill-banana-fana-fo-fill. Anyway I grew up in the 60ís, attended Syracuse in the 70ís when my hair was long, jeans were torn faded and bellbottomed, and my music of choice was more folk and rock; dance music was referred to as disco, rap did not exist. I enjoy working here at Venture as Business Development Mgr-List Services because it ties together all the media Iíve bought and sold within the industry: space sales, card deck sales, alternative media and list brokerage/management, all in one very convenient location one block from the center of New York City.

I relish talking to list owners and business owners about various disciplines and sometimes even reminisce about the ěglory daysî. A consummate tennis fan, (my friends call me the ětennis specialistî, I also enjoy filling my i-pod with Dylan, Springsteen, and at one time dare I admit, Tom Jones. When Iím not talking about CPMíS or reading DM News on the often delayed LIRR you can usually find me arranging a game of tennis. Doubles anyone?

Married to my college sweetheart, Linda, in her own interior design business, we have two grown kids; Stephen, an associate director at Barclays Bank, and Alexi, currently in a Masters Program at Columbia in Social Work.

How often should I repeat my mailing?

  Establishing the "right" number of emails to send is difficult. If you email too frequently you alienate your customers. And if you email not enough they forget about you. Obviously, every situation is unique, but the best way to let your recipients dictate how often they want to hear from you. Survey your audience about preferred frequency or provide them frequency choices when they first sign up. Another solution is to offer readers a monthly review of your weekly messages or giving them the option to subscribe to your message via an RSS feed.
